Most of these come from emails we actually get. Where the honest answer is "it depends" or "no", that's what's written below.
Whether it will work for you
I've already tried nose strips, mouth tape and a mouthguard. Why would this be any different?
Because those work on a different part of the problem. Strips open your nostrils, tape shuts your mouth, a mouthguard pushes your jaw forward. None of them touch the throat muscles that sag and narrow your airway once you fall asleep, which for most chronic snorers is where the noise is coming from.
Aequo works on those muscles directly. That's the whole difference, and it's why the timeline is weeks rather than instant.
Does it actually work, or is it another gadget that does nothing?
Straight answer: it works for a lot of people and it doesn't work for everyone. Anyone telling you a device like this has a 100% success rate is lying to you.
Results depend on what's causing your snoring, how severe it is, and whether you actually use it every night. That's precisely why you get 100 nights rather than 30. Long enough to find out properly, and to send it back if it isn't doing anything for you.
How long before I notice anything?
Some people report a quieter first week. For most it's more gradual: the difference builds over several weeks of consistent nightly use, and tends to become more reliable around the one to two month mark.
Usually the mornings change first, then your partner tells you the nights have. If you're expecting to be transformed by Thursday, this isn't that. It's muscle conditioning, and conditioning takes time.
I've been told I stop breathing at night. Is this enough on its own?
If you've been diagnosed with moderate or severe sleep apnoea, no, and don't let anyone sell you otherwise. Untreated severe apnoea is a serious health risk and you should be talking to your doctor about proper treatment.
If you haven't been assessed and you snore heavily, wake up gasping, or your partner has watched you stop breathing, get a sleep study first. Aequo is built for chronic snoring and milder cases, not as a replacement for prescribed medical treatment.
Is there anyone who shouldn't use it?
Speak to your doctor before using Aequo if you have a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic device, if you're pregnant, if you have epilepsy or a heart rhythm condition, or if you have broken or irritated skin under your chin.
It's for adults. We don't recommend it for under-18s.
Living with it
Will I feel it? Will it keep me awake?
Most people describe a light tingling on the first couple of nights that they stop noticing fairly quickly. You can turn the intensity down if it bothers you.
It's completely silent. No motor, no fan, nothing for your partner to hear either.
Will it stay on if I move around a lot in my sleep?
For most people, yes. The adhesive patch is designed to hold through normal movement.
It's worth knowing that adhesion is the most common complaint with any patch-based device, so make sure the skin under your chin is clean and completely dry before you apply it. Moisturiser or stubble oil is usually what causes a patch to lift. If it does come loose in the night, it presses straight back on.
I have a beard. Does that matter?
Short stubble is usually fine. A full beard makes it harder for the patch to grip the skin, and it won't hold reliably through the night.
The area right under the chin is the contact point, so if you can keep just that patch trimmed close you'll get a much better seal.
How do I charge it, and how long does a charge last?
The device charges in its case using the USB cable included in the box, from any standard USB port or adapter. A full charge covers a full night's sleep.
Most people leave it in the case during the day and it's ready by bedtime.
Can I take it away with me?
Yes. The device and case fit in a pocket, there's nothing to plug into the wall overnight, and it's silent, so hotel rooms and shared rooms aren't an issue. Pack a few spare patches.
Do I need a prescription?
No. Aequo is sold directly and doesn't require a prescription or a sleep clinic referral. It also isn't a substitute for one if you've been told you need treatment.
Patches and ongoing cost
Do I have to keep buying patches forever?
You'll need replacements eventually. They're a consumable, like razor blades, and they're the only ongoing cost of owning an Aequo.
Your order includes a month's worth, so you're not buying anything else for a while. We'd rather tell you that up front than have you find out after checkout.
What do refills cost?
A pack of 16 patches is $39, which covers roughly two weeks of nightly use. Larger packs bring the per-patch price down, to $1.61 on the 80-pack.
Can I use a different patch or a gel instead?
No. The patch is what carries the contact between the device and the skin, and third-party adhesives won't conduct properly. Using them means the device either does nothing or feels uncomfortable.
Ordering, delivery and the 100 nights
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and typically arrive in 7–11 business days. Shipping is free and tracked, and you'll get the tracking number by email as soon as it leaves.
Why a hundred nights and not thirty?
Muscle conditioning takes months, so a thirty-day trial would be close to meaningless. You'd send it back before it had a fair chance to do anything.
A hundred nights is long enough to actually find out.
What happens if it doesn't work for me?
Email us within 100 nights of delivery and we'll refund you in full. No restocking fee, no requirement to return it unopened, no arguing about whether you used it properly. You won't be asked to argue your case.
The guarantee is long precisely because we're asking you to give it a real trial. It would be pointless to then make the refund difficult.
How do I start a return?
Email support@aequos.store with your order number and we'll send you the return address and next steps. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days of us receiving the device.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If it hasn't been dispatched, yes. Email us as soon as you can with your order number. Once it's on its way, the 100-night guarantee covers you instead.
